Theatre Kitchen

International boiling pot for "cooks" and "ingredients" from Theatre Universe.

dear friends,
i keep thinking about an idea that Sergei mentioned once about how to collaborate painting and performance.
i have an image about the performers body used as a background or landscape for painting.
as the body moves the painting on the body evokes so many differents shapes. i have already tried it and made a little film animation using this idea but im wondering how can it work on stage, if it is possible?
if someone has any suggestion please let me know

Hi Esztella!

I am a painter who is in love with Dance. During the last years dance is my main inspiration and research theme in art - Dance on the canvas, Dance on the tip of a paintbrush... I am very interested to develop a conversation with dancers and choreographers about the dance creation process.
Where do you see the beginning of dance?...
Is is possible to catch the moments of dance?...

Here you can see some of works on www.ostrenkoart.ning.com

Very interesting theme. I think dance is the best way to touch our soul. I am actriz (physical theater and theater dance), but dance is my territory. I love paint too, and when I paint (actually I am preparing a canvas about dance) I feel that I have to catch that moment full of meaning, when the body is in the middle between to go and to come, it is a suspend moment, and every body who has this cuality is dancing.
Take into account your question, Jackie, for me the dance begin when a simple movement become important because it is full of meaning shoot in every directions through the space and time.

Hello Evelyn!
How interesting! I think that when the actor is entering the world of physical theater and dance theater, he acquires a very special feeling of the space, time and music, a very special feeling of partners on the stage. Eventually this way we become very sensitive and versatile performers. This theme intererests me a lot today on stage.
Evelyn, do you have any links to your works on canvas? any pictures or video?
It sounds very inspiring.
